Necronomicon Ex Mortis New EP!

New EP from Necronomicon Ex Mortis

If you’re into Death Metal and Horror movies you’ll LOVE ths EP. It features 3 songs with blistering riffs, blazing drums and aggressive vocals.

Necronomicon Ex Mortis was formed by Michael Nystrom Bala out of a desire to combine elements of classic death metal, 80s shred worship, and gory lyrics about B-horror movies.

After writing far too many songs, Michael contacted guitarist Manuel Barbara, who joined the band because he had “nothing better to do.” Shortly after, bassist Yusuf Rashid joined the band so he could escape the jazz world and play music people would listen to outside of an elevator. The three amigos then enlisted fellow Berklee Bros Craig Schmuhl and Joey Ferretti, on vocals and drums respectively. Apparently they didn’t have much better to do, either.

Drum Session w/Anthony Thompson of 24-7 Spyz

Pure Energy!

I had a fantastic drum session with Russ Irwin (Aerosmith) and Anthony Thompson (24-7 Spyz).
Anthony is the energetic backbone of the New York band 24-7 Spyz and has a truly unique style of playing.

Russ Irwin is an amazing multi-instrumentalist and composer that has written songs for Aerosmith, Foreigner, Scorpions, and Meat Loaf to name a few. Check him out at: http://russirwin.com

The Duo is working on a new album featuring songs they have written together over the years. I can say they’ve written some great songs and Russ’s melodies are infectious! I will definitely share more when they release these songs!

New Live Stream Concert Series

Live Stream Concert

Live music is such an integral part of our everyday lives and although 2020 has stripped us of that. Well the crew at Ultimate Studios, Inc is trying to do our part to bring you amazing sounding music from some amazing independent artists.

With most clubs and venues being shut down right now independent artists have largely lost their ability to play their music live in front of an audience. While simple live streaming from phones and simple homes setups is great we are trying to bring recording quality live concerts straight to our home.

Ultimate Studios, Inc has a full HD live streaming rig with a 5 camera switch. The live room is well equipped with instruments (and plenty of space for social distancing!!!) and the audio rolls right off the Trident 88 console and intro the live stream. The audience at home basically you will hear the same thing that we hear in the control room.

We are offering this as a service to any artists that would like to put on a fantastic sounding and looking concert for their fans.

To kick this amazing live streaming service off we are launching a Live Streaming Concert Series. We will feature a diverse group of independent artists that we think are really great!

Our first artist is The Lao Tizer Band. Lao is an amazing and accomplished pianist and his band consists of some of the best players in the business; Ric Fierabracci (bass), Gene Coye (drums), Eric Marienthal (sax) and Tita Hutchison (vocals).

Gears of War 5 Portuguese Voice Over

Gears of War 5 is a huge video game, both in popularity and amount of Voice Over! I had the pleasure of recording Voice Over artist Bruno Mello who portrayed the character Del.

There is an enormous amount of dialog in a game like this. Some of it’s freeform, some is strict time constraint and some is lip sync.

The lip sync is the most fun because you get to see how it matches up with the video but is also tricky because Portuguese and English don’t necessarily match syllable for syllable!

The studio, Audioman, that was contracted with overseeing the Portuguese overdubs is located in Sao Paolo. It’s run by a school mate, Nick Casabona, from my Musicians Institute days in the late 90’s. Pretty cool!

It was fun working on such a cool game with great talent. If you’re a gamer you’ve got to check it out!

Mixing for Taiwanese Artist “Mixer”

Last year I had the wonderful pleasure of going to Taiwan and putting on several recording clinics with studios in Taipei and Kaohsiung along with my partners in crime Hao and Tao. Well they have opened up Ultimate Studios, Inc Taiwan and this year I got to mix a project they produced at their brand new studio.

The grammy winning band Mixer worked a new tracked at Ultimate Studios, Inc TW and was Mixed and Mastered here at Ultimate Studios, Inc in Los Angeles by myself and Ernesto Homeyer. They shot a new music video as well and a full behind the scenes video of the entire recording process along with Warm Audio.

It was so much fun having the chance to work on this track with them and the new studio. It’s a really cool band (even if you don’t speak Mandarin the melody is catchy!!) and I wish them all the best!

Batfarm Releases New Single “Now That You’re Gone”

“Now That You’re Gone” A powerful, emotive, new single from Batfarm

While we have been super busy finishing up the new Batfarm EP the dynamic duo of Alexx Calise and Dennis Morehouse have released the second single from the upcoming EP.

““Now That You’re Gone” is an emotive ballad about being left in the wake of a loved one’s suicide. As a sufferer of depression myself, I was trying (lyrically) to bring to light the often uncomfortable subject of suicide and self harm, and the consequences that many loved ones are forced to suffer when someone needlessly takes their own life.” says Alexx Calise.

Written almost 10 years ago by Dennis and Alexx it has taken a while for them to get the song exactly where they wanted it to be. Including production that was equally as powerful as the song content.

Recording sessions for the new EP will wrap in the coming weeks with mixing starting almost immediately after there completion. Look for the EP release this summer and in the meantime check out the new single “Now That You’re Gone”.
